DRC - CPD for Dental Nurses - Radiation and Radiological Protection

This core CPD programme for dental nurses has been designed to refresh the knowledge of dental nurses holding an approved dental nurse radiographer qualification, or to introduce principles for the safe and effective use of x-radiation for dental diagnosis to dental nurses who do not hold such qualifications.

Aims and Objectives for this programme are:

• Outline legal requirements of radiation regulations IRR (ME) 2000
• Specify the role of dental nurses in radiological protection
• Introduce methods for monitoring and maintaining the quality of radiographs
• Review practice policy for radiological protection

Outcomes learners will:

• Compare current compliance with best practice requirements
• Dental nurses can define their role in patient care in line with professional standards
• A process of continuous review and improvement will be followed
• Update practice policy as required

Course Fees

£50.00 ex. VAT £58.75 inc. VAT This package can be used for up to 10 DCPs working at the same practice, over a 12month period. A £10.00 Assessment fee will be charged for subsequent learners * VAT is charged at 17.5%. VAT was increased back to 17.5% on 1st Jan 2010
