DRC CPD for Dental Nurses -Disinfection and Decontamination

Infection control has always been one of the most important responsibilities for dental nurses. The guiding principles for best practice in cross infection prevention are frequently updated in the light of scientific research findings. Dental professionals have a duty to keep up to date with their understanding of pathogens and effective methods of controlling infection. This programme looks at practical applications for the most recent decontamination guidance provided to UK dental practices.

Aims and Objectives

Aims to:

• Define the range and Scope of disinfection and decontamination responsibilities for dental nurses
• Introduce Industry standards for dentistry
• Specify the purpose and aims of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Outline principles of Zoning

Outcomes to:

• Implement effective measures for cross infection control
• Create work protocols to observe HTM105
• Avoid preventable occupational health conditions

Course Fees

£50.00 ex. VAT £58.75 inc. VAT This package can be used for up to 10 DCPs working at the same practice, over a 12month period. A £10.00 Assessment fee will be charged for subsequent learners * VAT is charged at 17.5%. VAT was increased back to 17.5% on 1st Jan 2010
