Level 3 DRC Introductory Award in Care Coordination

Open Learning

This program has been designed by the Dental Resource Company to offer you a chance to take the first steps into formal studies for care coordinators. Having completed this program you will be ready to begin formal studies leading to a professional qualification as a dental care coordinator.

Who Are These Introductory Courses For?

This program is beneficial for experienced dental receptionists and nurses who are ready to further develop their marketing and communication skills as preparation for working as a care coordinator. It is important that your practice has an agenda to introduce a care coordinator into the team and this program will help with the preparatory stages of the scheme. Each student is allocated a tutor who will tailor the course content to your learning needs and the needs of your practice. You will gain insight and confidence; the program will stimulate enthusiasm for the scheme.

Why Take An Introductory Course?

There are a number of widely recognised barriers preventing PCDs from taking relevant formal qualifications. This program aims to overcome barriers such as the feeling that you are jumping into the deep end of a lengthy program of formal study, when you have not studied formally for some time, which can be an overwhelming prospect. Research shows that many potential students ask themselves questions such as:

Do I have what it takes to succeed?
Am I willing / able to sacrifice some of my spare time to study?
How does distance learning work?
Will I have enough support or will I be alone and isolated?
Can I manage the IT requirements of the programme?
Can I afford the fees?

Time Commitment

Approx 4-6 hours.
