The role of practice manager has developed considerably over the past 10 years. Today's successful practice managers need a wide range of both dental and management skills. Our courses are designed to add vital management knowledge and skills for students from a dental background and for students from a management background within other sectors, to put their skills and knowledge into a dental care context.

BTEC Level 4 Professional Diploma In Dental Practice Management
This level 4 management qualification builds underpinning knowledge and evaluate skills in many areas of management . Learners are required to provide evidence of appropriate judgement in planning, selecting and presenting information to internal and external customers. At level 4 some of the managers day- to- day work is self -directed and some supervised by a senior manager. They will have responsibility for meeting specified quality standards and need a clear understanding of relevant general and dentally specific regulations, plus the ability to apply a high level of interpersonal skills to ensure observation of practice policy and protocols.

There are no formal entry requirements for this course, however students will need to complete an induction assignment, to ensure they will be able to produce work at the required level

BTEC Level 5 Professional Diploma in Dental Practice Management
This senior management qualification focuses on diagnostic and creative skills and aims to develop the ability to exercise appropriate judgement for planning and design processes. Level 5 managers are responsible for supervising the work of junior managers and accept responsibility for personal and group decisions with overall accountability for their designated area of management.

Participants are required to hold a level 4 management qualification and to have senior management work role. On completion of the on-line Phase 1 application, candidates will be sent the Phase 2 application form to confirm their eligibility for this course

The process for updating this award is very straightforward. You are required to complete mapping procedure to show how your BTEC Certificate qualification matches the criteria of the new BTEC Diploma qualification. Where new criteria have been included you will need to produce additional work.
